Champs!!

When Cole's Met's finished their season a few weeks back, we thought we were done with baseball for the 2009 season. Fortunately, it was not to be. Cole was selected to the All-Star team and we have been consumed by baseball for the past 3 weeks. We were on the field for practice or games for 18 of the last 22 days and it was all worthwhile.
He and the White Cougars ended up with a 5-1 record and won the Championship Game on Saturday, defeating the Red Devils by a score of 12-11. This was the first time Cole has been a part of a winning team and it was super exciting. Every game throughout the tournament was fun. It was amazing to see how talented these boys are, when you have a team of 12 that can play the game. To see a group of kids, come together as a team in a short period of time was incredible.

Cole had a great time. His defensive skills improved immensely and his bat stayed hot throughout the series. I think he batted over .800 through the tourney and was a key fixture at 3rd base. All of the games were very exciting and evenly matched.

Win or lose we knew this was one of the best experiences we have had playing and coaching but it sure does feel good when you win.
