Memorial Day 2011

Noah took a break from his his busy sports activities this morning to take part in something really special.

He and his cub scout pack, along with scouts from around the area,  planted ~ 18,000 flags at the Marietta National Cemetery for our fallen soldiers.

He he is carefully placing an American flag in front of a grave, then then stepping back and gives a solemn salute.

Last day of School

It was an exciting day for the kids today as they wrapped up another school year.  It will be our last and only time where all 3 kids attend the same school.

It was a big day for Cole as he graduated 5th grade and said Goodbye to Garrison Mill.

Champs

It was a long 3 1/2 months but paid off for Noah's Phillies.  He and the team busted their tails these last few weeks and steamrolled through every team in the Tournament.

It's tough trying to spend enough time with one kid, let alone 3 and hopefully Noah won't forget spending his winning season with his dad as the coach.  The score was 5-5 going into the last inning when our bats came alive.  It was a well fought game and we were fortunate to come out on top 9-6.

We get a few days off before starting practice with the All-Star team.

Baseball

It's a crazy few months but we wouldn't have it any other way.  From March to June we are in full sports mode.  3 teams, 3 different fields.

Cole's Orioles had a great season.  They quickly became the team to beat and took 1st place in the Division.  Unfortunately, they were upset early in the tournament.   While he primarily played 3b and Catcher, here a  few shots of him (his Pitching opportunity).
There is little time for him to get bored because he was fortunate to be selected to be a member of the 10U Sandy Plains Cougars, a traveling All-Stars.   We are excited for the opportunity to travel around the state. The goal is to win District and State in June and head to the World Series in Mississippi in early July.

Noah's Phillies also had a great season.  They finished 3rd and are primed and ready for the Tournament

And here are a few from Sandy Plains night at Turner Field

Here is a sample of one of her performances

Cole's Birthday

Cole turned 11 today!

Here he is opening his new iTouch. (I think he was secretly wishing for a haircut)

We kept it low key and took he and some of his buddies out for 5 Guys and Brusters.
